A spokesman at the British Museum said museum directors received a request from Egypt to borrow the Rosetta stone for the opening ceremony of Grand Egyptian Museum. Esmi Wilson said the museum secretary is studying this request, as there are reports saying the Egyptian government wants the stone back permanently. "Relations between colleagues in Egypt are good, and the British Museum plays a positive role with the workers in museums in Egypt," said Wilson, who added that the British Museum provides training to a number of Egyptian youth. Wilson confirmed coordination between the two countries, citing an exhibition at the British Museum about The Book of the Dead, which received more than 200,000 visitors.
