On occasion of international day for teachers, UNESCO office participated in honoring Egyptian teachers in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Education. The celebration will be held on Wednesday in the ministry's headquarter, sponsored by the Minster of Education, Ahmed Gamal el-Din Mousa. UNSESCO started celebrating international day for teachers since 1994, on the anniversary of signing the recommendation of UNESCO and ILO to develop teacher's conditions in 1966, according to UNESCO recommendations in 1997. Teachers consider the angle block of the teaching process, since it plays a fundamental role in reformation and development processes, reflecting back to society development. Such celebration is considered a chance to honor teachers for their noble role in bringing up the future generations. The theme of celebration this year is ‘Teachers and equality between genders." The celebration this year also focuses on ‘idealistic teachers,' the bets kind of group of teachers throughout Egypt and another group of teachers who gained a certificate of merit from Arab or foreign countries in honor of their efforts. Discussions will be included via Skype, a chatting program, between talented teachers with other Egyptian teachers working in U.S. schools. This discussion will be about how to develop the educational regime in Egypt after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution and the basic needs to reach equality in education.
