Arab Gulf country sources revealed there are recent consultations in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) considering adding Egypt as an active member with countries like Morocco and Jordan. The sources said many of the council countries are enthusiastic to have Egypt join the GCC, because Egypt has many various potentials, besides strategic and historical relations with many of the council countries. Sources also said Egyptian policy is very similar to the GCC's policy especially since Jordan and Morocco joined and the experience of having Yemen join the Arab Gulf states' institution. "Egypt showed a primary approval to enhance the cultural, economical cooperation with Arab Gulf states, especially after the big changes in Iraqi and Iranian interference in the affairs of Arab Gulf states," the GCC said.
