The Gulf Cooperation Council is negotiating the possibility of Egypt joining the council as an active member with both Jordon and Morocco, according to sources at Al-Watani magazine in Kuwaiti. Gulf countries are enthusiastic about the move as they believe Egypt has good potential, strategic relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council, and a historical attachment to security in the region. The same sources say Egyptian officials have shown initial approval to the idea.
