CAIRO: Potential Egyptian Presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi today criticized those demanding the exclusion of the ruling military council. He also rejected any escalation against the council and demanded that Egyptians support it and not look for mistakes made by the transitional authority. “The people should be patient and help the military council hand over their authority to civilians,” Sabbahi told members of the Justice Party at a meeting. “The next Parliament should be formed by those people who participated in the January 25 Revolution.” “The people who participated in Tahrir Square have a right to join Egypt's Parliament,” said Mustafa al-Nagar, a member of the political office of the Justice Party. “The Muslim Brotherhood protected demonstrators in Tahrir from the remnants of the National Democratic Party,” Sabbahi said. “They should be able to participate in the next parliament.” “The country suffers from injustice and corruption under the former regime and Upper Egypt and Sinai were marginalized,” he added. Sabbahi promised to eradicate corruption and promote the best graduates if he is elected president. Leaders of the Justice Party received the presidential candidate and appreciated him for responding to their invitation.
