CAIRO: Egyptian security forces in coordination with the armed forces today mounted a significant crackdown in downtown Cairo to chase out outlaws and street vendors affecting street traffic. Major General Mohsen Morad , the head of Cairo security, and Head of Downtown Investigation Maj. Gen. Osama el-Soghaier led the security siege. The security personnel were assisted by many leaders in the security directorate as well as the Egyptian armed forces. The security crackdown was successful in returning traffic flow to normal.
