The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said on Sunday it hosted a high-level delegation from the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) to exchange expertise in banking supervision, financial technology and payment systems. The Iraqi team, led by Deputy Governor Ammar Khalaf, met with CBE Deputy Governor Tarek ElKholy to discuss joint cooperation, the CBE said in a statement. During the visit, Egypt showcased its recent developments in financial inclusion, electronic payments and consumer protection. The delegation was briefed on initiatives such as the national payment card "Meeza," the Instant Payment Network (IPN), and the central bank's fintech and innovation strategy, including its regulatory sandbox for testing digital financial services. Talks also covered efforts to expand access to finance for small businesses, improve financial literacy, and strengthen anti-fraud and anti-money laundering measures.
