Egyptian musician and composer, Omar Khairat will hold his first concert of season Monday at 8 pm on the Great Stage of Egypt Opera House. The program includes number of his masterpieces composed over the past thirty years. Omar Khairat is one of Egypt's most talented composers. Raised in an intellectual family, he joined Conservatory institute in 1959 to study musical theory and the piano. Khairat is the recipient of many prizes, such as Best Soundtrack at the Alexandria International Film Festival for “Naama and Tawous” (Ostrich and Peacock) in 1989. The composer was also awarded best soundtrack for “Al-Bahth” (The Search for Tutankhamen) from the Radio and television Union, and best soundtrack at the Tebessa International Festival in Algeria in 2001.
