The state of recession and loss in the market were due to the disturbances after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. Private school uniforms witnessed a 300 percent increase in prices this year. Experts blamed private schools in Egypt achieve a higher rate of profits. They added private schools are responsible for determining the price of the school uniforms, which are sold in individual shops. Experts assured the increase of prices turned out to be a business, where they accused private schools of dealing with some of the clothes shops selling private school uniforms. The shops determine the price according to the number of the children before the beginning of the semester. This caused a problem for the parents in finding school uniforms, since the uniforms are only sold at shops dealing with the private schools. “Private schools are like any business, and the increase in the price of textiles is predictable, which increased by 300 percent,” said the chairman of the ready-made clothes department at Cairo chamber, Mahmoud el-Daoor.
