The military court decided to adjourn Mohamed al-Zawahiri's trial until September 20. Mohamed al-Zawahiri's defense attorney requested during today's hearing session to release al-Zawahiri since he remained in custody for 12 years without being tried, considered the longest remand in history. He added the dissolved state security investigation kept Mohamed locked based on no sentence and he wasn't tried before the military court. Mohamed's attorney pointed out there was no evidence against his client and the entire case is a fiasco to capture Mohamed because he is the brother of the current leader of Al-Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri. The administrative court in the state's council decided to study the plaintiff presented by Mohamed's attorney, who requested to abort the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's order to refer Mohamed to be tried before the military court. Mohamed was locked up for 12 years without being aware of his death sentence, since the supreme military court issued a death sentence in absentia against Mohamed back in 1998. It should be noted Mohamed was captured in the United Arab Emirates in 1999 and he was deported to Egypt. He is currently locked in Torah prison.
