Before cutting off relations with Israel, Egypt should look at the advantages gained from the good relations with Israel, said former Egyptian Ambassador to Israel, Mohamed Basioni. Cutting off relations with Israel would lead to more tension on the borders and could open the door for an endless war, Basioni added during a phone call with Al-Qahera Al-Youm TV program. "I think there was no violation of the Camp David Peace Treaty of 1979 between both countries," Basioni said. He clarified Israel agreed on the formation of an Egyptian-Israeli committee to investigate the events in Sinai recently. He highlighted Israel expressed its apologies for such events. He added Egypt's public opinion contributes to the decision-making process so Egyptians should deal with the situation wisely to achieve Egypt's best interest.
