CAIRO: Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman'a family had a collective Sohour, a late night Ramadan meal, on the second day of their strike outside the U.S. embassy. Omar Abdel Rahman is imprisoned in the U.S. and his family called upon the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) and the U.S. government to set Abdel Rahman free. He has been imprisoned in a U.S. prison for 18 years. His family staged a strike to ensure their demands of setting him free are met. Sheikh Abdallah, Abdel Rahman's son, showed his criticism when security forces banned them to set up tents for women, although Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf's statements allowed peaceful protests. Security forces claimed to follow rules to maintain the appearance of streets outside the embassy. Abdallah assured they will continue their open strike until his father is out of prison.
