Egyptian Foreign Affairs Ministry to open African market for Egyptian investments
Published in Youm7 on 11 - 08 - 2011

Officials in Chad “presented an offer to Egypt to import camels and goats,” reported Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Mona Omar.
The officials also asked Egyptian professors to work in Chad.
Omar claims that Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi, head of Egypt's ruling military council, sent a letter to the Chad President Idriss Deby.
Omar visited N'djamena, the capital of Chad, to represent Egypt during the inauguration ceremonies of President Deby. She felt that Chad is interested in developing relations with Egypt in all fields.
“Chad is an important country in the middle of Africa. It is also the only country that speaks the Arabic language, and it shares a border with both Sudan and Libya,” said Omar.
A delegation of Egyptian businessmen is scheduled to visit Chad, Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana next month.
Egyptian businessmen are making investments in Africa after the January 25 Revolution, said Omar.
“Egypt needs to open African markets for Egyptian products in order to reduce unemployment,” said Omar.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Egyptian embassies in African countries are trying to find more opportunities for Egyptian businessman in African nations, she added.
Omar said that she will hold a meeting with Egyptian civil society organizations in order to unify Egyptian efforts to help Somali people.
“Egypt has sent a humanitarian aid convoy to Somalia a few days ago and another convoy will be sent to a Somali refugee camp in south Kenya,” said Omar.
