Children in the Gaza Strip decided to fly 15,000 kites at the same time for a world-breaking record despite the tough circumstances and their siege by Israel. A total of 15,000 children participated in the attempt organized by the United Nations on a beach in the north of the Gaza Strip. "The unofficial number of kites was 13,000 children flying kites, which exceeds the previous record achieved in China," said an official spokesman of the UN. "The children of Gaza broke the record. They were happy, wonderful and full of enthusiasm. The children proved today they are on top of the world, despite all the tough circumstances they are going through," a volunteer in the UN program said.
