Iran has approved the launch of a radio station for promoting books, according to Mohamed Hamza Zada, the general director of Iran's Islamic Revolution Publishers association. The new radio station is an application for the claim of Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, which calls for the importance of reading and spreading books. "The Ayatollah has confirmed on the importance of books and reading and the media's role in promoting books," said Zada during an interview with Iranian book news agency Eebena. Hamza said the book station will focus on the importance of content. It will meet its goals by varying radio programs. Hamza said, "Mena association announced its willingness to provide the book station with the necessary productive sources, such as informing publishers and writers about the station and providing the station with required content and texts.”
