RED SEA, Cairo: After Friday's prayer today, about 200 citizens from Islamic movements gathered in Abdel-Moniem Reyad Square in Hurghada to express their support for Egypt's military institution and to demand a fair trial for former President Hosni Mubarak and the members of the former regime. The demonstrators chanted against Mubarak and Egypt's former Minister of Interior, Habib al-Adly. The demonstrations were led by a retired police officer, Mohamed al-Rahmany, who joined the Islamic movement. Friday's sermon was given by Ezz al-Din Refaat, one of Awqaf's preachers, who criticized the slow trials of the figures of the former regime. He expressed his support for the army, demanding the citizens not to respond to rumors and calls of going against the army. Hurghada's director of security, Abdel-Aziz al-Nahas, ordered protecting the demonstrators, allowing them to express their opinions freely and preventing thugs from coming into the demonstrations.
