CAIRO: Groups of Al-Azhar teachers protested outside the sheikhdom today. They request an independent syndicate. The teachers chanted many slogans such as, "One, two, where is Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb?" and "A sit-in until a decision is issued." Egyptian army forces secured the sheikhdom to make sure the teachers won't be able to close the doors of the sheikdom and prevent officials from leaving, as they did last week when the army forces dispersed them. An official in Al-Azhar said they sent the files of all the teachers working for three years to the central agency for organization and administration to be appointed. He added the teachers should protest outside the central agency not at the sheikhdom.
