An American citizen, James Annenberg, donated 100,000 to Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Ministry of Antiquities and expressed his admiration for his role in the protection of the cultural heritage of Egypt. Dr. Hawass received a phone call from Annenberg, in which he expressed his admiration for his work and his discoveries. His desire was to make a donation to the Ministry of Antiquities, which will go to the ministry's Health Care Fund to help in the treatment of archaeologists. The telephone occurred before Anneberg was due to go into heart surgery but he promised Hawass he would visit Egypt as soon he recovers.
