CAIRO: Facebook users represent only 6 percent of Egyptian society, said Ayman Nour, chairman of al-Ghad Party and a likely presidential candidate. Nour was commenting on an opinion poll of Facebook users which is being conducted by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which is currently charged with Egypt's administration. The poll asks users who they would like to see become the next president of Egypt. Nour places fifth on the list. Nour said he has sent messages to Egypt's former president, Hosni Mubarak, and to the Islamic fundamentalist Salafi sect. In the first message, Nour told Mubarak, “You previously said we were a political power jointed to the popular parliament to leave them –us- to get the entertainment. So I tell you today, ‘Thanks to God, we and all the Egyptians enjoy today.'” As for the second message, Nour said “I see that every Muslim is a Salafi and great numbers of Salafis have broad-minded ideologies and ideas, but other people looked shocked because of National unity.” Nour has announced that he will participate in the Million-Man demonstration in Tahrir which will be held on July 8. He added that the revolution has not ended, because there are still remains of the former regime. However, Nour expressed his refusal to stage a sit-in. Nour added that he supports the group who calls for putting the constitution before holding parliamentary elections. Nour criticized Egypt's Minister of Finance's policies by pointing out the case of minimum wages, which is decided to be at EGP 700 and will be increased to EGP 1200 by 2016. Nour wondered about the police's absence from the streets. He proposed dividing the Ministry of Interior into two ministries: one concerned with internal affairs and the other with police affairs.
