CAIRO: The return of Hussein Salem from Madrid is threatened by the lack of an extradition treaty between Egypt and Spain. Security sources in the Ministry of Interior told Youm7 there is no extradition treaty between Egypt and Spain. They also said that the deportation of businessman Hussein Salem— who was caught in Madrid this Thursday— is not an option according to the bilateral agreements between the two countries. The sources said that security services have not yet finished preparing the file of Hussein Salem explaining why Spain must extradite him to Egypt. The file will include the reasons for his arrest, and evidence in the three cases against him. The sources said the fugitive businessman Hussein Salem is under house arrest in a villa he owns in the Spanish capital Madrid.
