ALEXANDIRA, Egypt: A Facebook group created by youth in Egypt's Mediterranean city of Alexandria has chosen July 1 as the date of its first meeting. The group, titled 'Let's purify Alexandria from Violence,' aims to purge thugs from the streets of Alexandria. Group members said, “We won't gather for demonstrations, but we will gather so every member can know their role in the society. We aim to protect Egypt, particularly Alexandria, from bullying and violence. We want to switch thoughts into real actions.”
