An Israeli opinion poll revealed that 77 percent of Israelis sympathize with former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and refuse his resignation. 15 percent support his ousting and prosecution. The rest of the voters, 8 percent, refused to vote. The newspaper Yiserael Hume said 65 percent of Israelis insist on keeping the Peace Treaty with Egypt, signed in 1979, while 13 percent voted to cancel it. The remaining 22 percent refused to vote. The poll revealed that 41 percent of Israelis see the January 25 Revolution as a threat to Israel, 18 percent believe the revolution serves Israel's interests, 16 percent believe it will not affect Israel's security, and 25 percent refused to vote. In another opinion poll, 47 percent of Israelis refused to have peace discussion with Palestinians after the reconciliation deal between Fatah and Hamas, while 41 percent support having discussions. The remaining 9 percent couldn't make a decision. Only 19 percent of Israelis expressed their desire to achieve peace with the Palestinians, while 72 percent refused peace and 9 percent voted for "I don't know." In a poll about Israeli-American relations, 68 percent of Israelis support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to strengthen relations with the U.S., while 16 percent refused and the remaining 16 percent weren't sure. 61 percent of Israelis accepted Netanyahu's proposal to exchange lands with Palestinians as a condition to resume peace talks, while 25 percent refused.
