Mustafa Bakri, a former member of parliament, sent a request to Judge Assem el-Gohary, assistant to the Minister of Justice and head of the Illicit Gains Authority, to complete the investigation against him which was put in motion by another former parliamentarian, Talaat el-Sadat. Bakri told Youm7 that it is important that the investigation against him is completed and the results announced publicly because he is completely sure of his innocence. He said he himself has filed many reports against others involved in illegal gains, including el-Sadat. Bakri said he frequently files reports of financial disclosure and that he only owns the house he has lived in for 25 years and another property in Qena Governorate. He said all his money comed from his work on el-Saaa channel. Bakry challenged Sadat to submit a single piece of evidence that indicates that he obtained his money illegally, and said he will soon submit surprising evidence in his case against Sadat. In response to Sadat's accusation that he has a fortune of 200 million EGP, Bakri said, “If that's true he can have the 199 million and just leave me a million."
