Spanish photographer Manuel Brabo said he never lost hope of getting out of Libya alive. According to the Spanish newspaper El Pais, Brabo returned to Madrid after he was abducted by troops and detained for nearly a month and a half. He was accused by the Libyan authorities of entering the country illegally and practicing journalism without permission. Brabo described his abduction and arrest in detail. He said the he remained in a military detention center in solitary confinement for nearly 12 days and was then transferred to the court. He had hope of being released but was transferred later to the prison along with eight other people, one of whom loaned him his cell phone to call and reassure his parents. Libyan authorities released four foreign journalists including two Americans, an English and a Spaniard. After being held in Libya for over a month, they arrived on Wednesday evening to the Rixos Hotel in Tripoli. It was reported that they looked tired but were in good health.
