Spanish demonstrators raised the Egyptian flag in Puerta del Sol Square in Madrid, shouting slogans during a demonstration demanding their rights. A Spanish website said the entire world was watching during Egypt's January 25 Revolution and that Tahrir Square is in the hearts of the citizens of Madrid. The website said the question is, what is the future of Spain's protests, if compared to the Egyptian revolution that led to the ousting of Hosni Mubarak? One of the protest's spokesmen said online, "We shouldn't forget that it's only the beginning." He said the time is suitable for change. Thousands of protesters rallied in Puerta del Sol Square to demand change and reform in the political regime in Spain. The protests took place a few days before local and regional elections. Protesters also demand improving living conditions, especially since Spain suffers from 20 percent unemployment. Protestors condemned the strict policies imposed by the government to counter deficit. One of demonstrators, of Egyptian nationality, published a number of photos of the Spanish demonstration, among which there is a photo of the Egyptian flag.
