Ismaili overturned their trailing against Khartoum in style, thrashing the Sudanese side 5-0 to claim a 6-3 aggregate victory in the Arab Cup of Club. The Dervishes put in an emphatic display to come back from a 3-1 first-leg defeat and qualify for the quarter-finals of the regional competition. Egypt international duo Ahmed Ali and Ahmed Khairi bagged two goals apiece, with new signing John Antwi scoring for his second game in a row. It started after less than two minutes when Ali headed home from close range before Antwi finished off a superb team move minutes later. It was three before the 20th minute when midfielder Khairi half-volleyed a powerful shot before completing his brace after the break, courtesy of another wonderful team goal. Striker Ali completed the rout near the end with a cool finish. Ismaili join African rivals Raja Casablanca and USM Alger to the last eight, with four other teams from Asia expected to complete the octet.
