Ahli midfielder Walid Soliman is set to miss Sunday's Champions League semi-final against Sunshine Stars due to a knee complaint. After pulling out of Egypt's squad with the injury, Soliman is still struggling as Ahli said he had been training alone of late. “It is more important to make sure Walid is fully fit, so we are not going to risk him against Sunshine," Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz told the club's website. “We don't want the injury to get worse. We are preparing him for the final if we qualified." A clean sheet would be enough for Ahli to qualify for the Champions League final, having secured a 3-3 draw in Nigeria this month. The Reds are favorites to make it as the other semi-final will see Tunisia's Esperance taking on four-time champs Mazembe.
