Mohamed Abou-Treika was the man of the match as Egypt eased to a 3-0 victory over Congo in a low-key friendly in Sharjah on Friday. A first-half blitz saw the Pharaohs hit three goals in five minutes before the break, including a brace from skipper Abou-Treika. Ahli star Treika, who is serving a club ban, showed no signs of lack of first-team football when he broke the deadlock in the 40th minute following a pass by Ahmed Mekki. Treika turned provider in the second goal that was scored Geddo before completing his brace at the stroke of half time. Egypt boss Bob Bradley played an attack-minded game against the African minnows, who hardly threatened the goal of Sherif Ekrami. Ekrami was between the posts for the whole game while his Ahli teammates Hossam Ghaly, Hossam Ashour, Ahmed Fathi and Geddo all played 45 minutes. Adam El-Abd, Ahmed Elmohamady, Saleh Gomaa, Ahmed Temsah, Mohamed Ibrahim were all second-half subs. Al-Wasl midfielder Shikabala was rested by Bradley, who prepares his team for a much tougher encounter against Tunisia on Tuesday.
