Ahli chairman Hassan Hamdi is facing criminal charges after being bailed out for failing to justify his earnings. Widespread Egyptian reports said that Hamdi was ordered to pay an EGP 2million bailout by the Anti-Illegal-Acquisition Center on Tuesday. Hamdi, 63, has been responding to accusations that he is using his post as the chief of renowned advertising agency Al-Ahram illegally. The alleged charges include tax evasion, illegal acquisition and wasting public money. Hamdi has been the chairman of Ahli since the death of long-serving club patron Saleh Selim in 2002.
