Ahli have announced that Hassan Hamdi will maintain his position as club chairman for another four years. The former seventies star, who got 16,878 votes, comfortably won the elections with a 'huge difference ahead of his closest rival'. Hamdi will remain in office for the third successive term, having occupied the prestigious seat in 2001 following the death of Ahli legend Saleh Selim. The Egyptian champions enjoyed great success under the 59-year-old's guidance, winning a host of local and continental titles. He also adopted a strict disciplinary system which is widely praised by local media. Ahli's new board also includes winners Mahmoud Al-Khatib (vice-chairman), Khaled Mortagi, Khaled Darandali, Rania Elwani, Hesham Saied and Al-Amri Farouk.
