Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met on Thursday with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President TANAKA Akihiko on the sidelines of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in Yokohama. The two officials discussed strengthening economic cooperation and expanding Japanese investment in Egypt. Prime Minister Madbouly, attending TICAD9 on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, highlighted the growth of Egyptian-Japanese ties in health, culture, infrastructure, transport and education, the Cabinet said in a statement. He praised Japan's role in supporting Egypt's development programmes and invited TANAKA to attend the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. The prime minister pointed to Japan's contribution to Egypt's education sector through 69 Japanese schools already operating in the country, and called for further partnership in technical and vocational training.
