Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly discussed on Thursday the establishment of an integrated Japanese industrial zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), highlighting government incentives for major projects and the area's strategic location on international shipping routes. The talks took place with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) President Norihiko Ishiguro on the sidelines of the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) held in Yokohama. Ishiguro expressed interest in boosting trade exchange between Egypt and Japan, expanding the presence of Egyptian products in the Japanese market, and encouraging Japanese investment in Egypt across multiple sectors. He also pointed to opportunities for cooperation in renewable energy, drawing on Japan's expertise, and in entrepreneurship by inviting Egyptian start-ups to enter the Japanese market. Egypt's ambassador to Japan Mohamed Abu Bakr highlighted ongoing cooperation with JETRO, particularly in communications and support for start-ups. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S.
