Ahli have terminated the contract of Brazilian striker Fabio Junior upon his own request, the Reds said on Wednesday. Fabio Junior, 29, has hardly made an impact since moving on a free transfer last year following a recommendation by ex-coach Manuel Jose. After spending most of his spell on the sidelines with various injuries, his exit was imminent given the manager Hossam Al-Badri kept looking for a non-Egyptian forward of late. Ahli now have a vacant slot to register an overseas player in the winter break as they already have Mauritanian Dominique da Silva and Ivorian Oussou Konan.
