Mido will miss Barnsley's Championship season start after sustaining an injury ahead of a pre-season game. The 29-year-old was stretchered off the pitch with a torn hamstring while warming-up prior to a game with Doncaster Rovers. According to Barnsley News website, Mido could be sidelined for between five and 15 weeks. Mido switched to Barnsley this summer after being offloaded by Zamalek, where he made a handful of appearances since re-joining in the 2010-2011 winter break. The Egypt international's career has been plagued by a series of injury and fitness problems, which eventually cost him playing top-flight football.
