Mohamed Zidan has been fined by the Egyptian FA for leaving the national team camp without permission last week as his international future looks in doubt. Following the CAN 2013 qualifying defeat to Central African Republic, the unattached Zidan left the Egypt camp to talk to a foreign club over a summer move. However, he failed to show up again as Bob Bradley's team prepare to play the second leg in Bangui on Saturday. The FA said on its website that Zidan will not receive the bonus of Egypt's recent wins over Mozambique and Guinea following his act. It was also reported that manager Bradley is unlikely to tolerate the behavior of the 30-year-old forward, who has been involved in an infamous training ground scuffle with teammate Ahmed Al-Shennawi earlier this month. Zidan has been a key player for Egypt during the six-year stint of former manager Hassan Shehata, even though he also had some controversial moments with the Master. In June 2009, he has been labeled 'disrespectful' by Shehata for skipping an international friendly against Guinea. He scored Egypt's first goal in the 3-2 Central African Republic defeat but was substituted midway through the second half.
