Ahli striker Emad Meteb has been called by Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic, the Cairo club said. Meteb pulled out of the Egypt squad before a World Cup qualifier in Guinea earlier this month with an ear infection and was accordingly left out of last week's defeat to Central African Republic. It was speculated that the 29-year-old fell out with manager Bob Bradley after spending 90 minutes on the bench during the game with Mozambique, but both of them refuted the claims. Following the shock 3-2 home defeat to the African minnows CAR, many pundits believed that Meteb should have been included in Egypt's line-up. Meanwhile, Ahli duo Sherif Ekrami and Sayed Moawad are also expected to leave the team's pre-season camp in Turkey to re-join the national team ahead of the Bangui trip.
