Zamalek have snapped up Burkina Faso striker Abdoulaye Cisse on a free transfer from Masri, the Cairo club announced. Cisse, 28, became a free agent after deciding not to extend his deal with Masri, who are banned from domestic football for next season following the Port-Said disaster. The former Montpellier striker penned a three-year contract with Zamalek on Tuesday and is expected to be added to the Whites' Champions League roster. Cisse's signature comes despite his initial declaration that he will join a club in Paris to stay close to his family. His arrival means that Ghanaian defender Karimu Alhassan will make way as Cisse joins foreign duo Alexis Mendomo and Razak Omotoyossi. Cisse has been Masri's top scorer in the previous two seasons.
