The Ahli squad are finally set to return home from Bamako after being forced to stay in the Malian capital following a Champions League game with Stade Malien. The Cairo club said on their website that the team's plane is set to depart Bamako and is expected to return home by mid-night. Ahli have been stranded in Mali in the wake of the recent political turmoil which saw over 20 people killed in clashes between the military junta and counter-coup soldiers. The Egyptian champions, who lost the last 16 tie 1-0 on Sunday, will re-play the Malian champions in Cairo on May 12. Meanwhile, Ahli said that first team players were forced to train in the hotel garden during the past couple of days.
