Ahli defender Sherif Abdul-Fadil admitted a little anxiety but indicated that the Reds' squad are safe in their hotel in Bamako. The Ahli squad have been stranded by a military coup in the Malian capital, following their CAF Champions League clash with Stade Malien on Sunday. Amid attempts from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry to provide a safe return to the team, Ahli players are forced to spend some time in an insecure atmosphere in Bamako. “We are all OK thank God but at the same time we want an end to this as soon as possible,” Abdul-Fadil, who replaced Wael Gomaa after nine minutes, told Ahli's website. “The players are fine but there is some anxiety because it is still unclear to us when shall we return home.” Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry announced that Egypt's embassy in Bamako would be ready to provide security to any Egyptian in Mali. According to medical sources, 15 people have been killed during the fresh unrest that took place this week in Mali.
