Ahli's flight problem is on the verge of being resolved, according to the Egyptian ambassador in Mali. Egyptian champions Ahli have been stranded by a counter-coup attempt in Malian capital Bamako, following a Champions League tie with Stade Malien. The Reds have been forced to spend a couple of extra days in their hotel in Bamako, but conditions have become stable after several days of fighting. “Life is back to normal in Mali. People are back to work and I think that flying could be possible on Thursday,” Ahmed Shokri, the Egyptian ambassador in Mali said. “We've been promised by Malian authorities that the problem will be resolved soon. I think we are close to that.” Ahli said that chairman Hassan Hamdi requested a private jet from the Egyptian military junta, currently in charge of the country. Ahli lost the last 16 first leg tie 1-0.
