Egypt eased to a 4-0 friendly victory over African minnows Chad in a friendly game in Omdurman. In-form teenager Mohamed Salah and captain Ahmed Khairi gave the Pharaohs a two-goal first-half advantage before an own goal and a late strike by Ahmed Mekki completed the rout. Amid the absence of a host of regulars, the likes of Khairi, Ashour Al-Taqui and Mohamed Al-Nenni caught the eye with relatively-pleasing performances, even though the opposition were anything but intimidating. The deadlock was broken after half an hour though, with Salah notching home one of his quality finishes, following a brilliant through from club-mate Al-Nenni. Two minutes before the break, Salah turned into provider when his inviting corner found Khairi, who headed home his second international goal to make it two. With only three substitutes available at his disposal, Egypt coach Bob Bradley was forced to make limited changes to his slightly-complacent side after the break. The changes paid off though as substitutes Salah Ashour and Mekki managed to refresh the frontline after coming on. Making his third international appearance, Police Union striker Salah chased a long ball forcing defender Hassan Hissein to beat his own keeper with one minute remaining. A minute later, Harras Hodoud hitman Mekki made it four when he curled in past the hapless keeper, following a deft through pass by Khairi.
