Ahli look anything but satisfied with the FA's decisions against Masri in the wake of the Port-Said disaster that rocked Egypt last month. More than 50 days after the devastating incident that left 77 fans dead on February 1, the FA announced ‘suspending Masri for two seasons', including the already-called-off 2011-2012 campaign. Ahli, who were also handed a four-match stadium ban, said they will make an announcement regarding the verdict after a board meeting on Monday, yet it seems the Cairo giants are totally disgruntled. “These are no penalties. They are just nominal decisions,” Ahli spokesman Gamal Gabr told Modern Kora TV. “This is an invitation for more violence. We are back to square one. What does a two-season ban mean when one of the two seasons is already inactive? “And regarding the punishment on Ahli, I think when Ghazl Mahalla fans invaded the pitch they were not punished like this.” Powerless association Gabr made it clear that Ahli supporters, who comprise most of the football fan-base in Egypt, will not accept the decisions by any means. “Ahli fans will never accept such a weak verdict from a powerless association,” he added. “It is also expected that Masri will protest. In their view, they should stay in the top flight and Ahli should be relegated!”
