Ibrahim Youssef has stepped down as manager of Ghazl Mahalla in protest over the FA's decision to hand Ahli a win over his side, following the infamous incidents that marred Saturday's match. The FA announced Ahli as winners over the Peasants after the latter's angry fans interrupted play at Mahalla Stadium, forcing referee Yasser Abdul-Raouf to call the match off as Ahli scored a goal. Moreover, the FA's Competitions Committee hit the newly-promoted club with a three-match stadium ban and suspended star midfielder Ahmed Magdi for two games. “I decided to quit and I won't back down. They (the FA) are fighting us. Every time I build a team they try to bring it down,” Youssef told Egyptian radio. “The decision of the FA is the quickest ever and this proves their intention toward Mahalla. “I won't play games away from home and without one of my key players.” Youssef, whose side were on a six-match unbeaten run before the Ahli game, took charge of Mahalla in place of Salah Al-Nahi after just a couple of weeks since the start of the season.
