Egyptian-owned Hull City will propose a friendly game with Ahli for the sake of the victims of the Port-Said disaster. The English club's Egyptian co-owner Assem Allam offered his support to the Cairo giants, who lost more than 70 supporters in the tragic events that followed their league game at Masri. "I would like to offer my sincere and personal condolences to the families of those innocent people who lost their lives in this most disturbing incident," Allam told Hull's website. "To see pictures of such extreme violence taking place at a football match in my home country was very upsetting for me and my family and my thoughts are very much with those affected." A statement from the club also read: “Dr. Allam will also invite the Al-Ahly club to Hull, at his own expense, as his guests with the possibility of an end-of-season game being staged at the KC Stadium to raise funds for the victims of the disaster if the hectic football calendar can accommodate a suitable date for both clubs.”
