Zamalek striker Mido will undergo a special weight-loss program and is expected to be out of action for two weeks, assistant coach Ismail Youssef said. “Mido took permission from the management to have a special diet program under the supervision of an English trainer,” Youssef told Zamalek's website. Mido, 28, has been struggling with weight and fitness problems during the past few years; a setback that dramatically took a toll on his progress in Europe. The Egypt international featured for a few minutes with Zamalek so far this season, even so he scored twice in two cameo appearances against Ghazl Mahalla and Bani Suef Telephones. Meanwhile, Youssef confirmed that striker Hussein Hamdi is not anymore regarded as a first-team player, as he looks set to leave in January despite signing in the summer.
