Ahli's league game with Ghazl Mahalla could be called off after the home fans invaded the pitch following the Reds' second equalizer. The Peasants were on a surprise two-nil lead as Mohamed Barakat pulled one back for Ahli, before a moment of controversy dominated the scene at Mahalla Stadium. A cross from Walid Soliman was deflected into the net by Mahalla defender Amr Ramadan, only for the ball to go through the net as it was unclear to referee Yasser Abdul-Raouf. But Abdul-Raouf's assistant did not hesitate to give a goal as the decision was met by fury from the home fans, with hundreds of teenagers invading the pitch with lighted canisters. Referee Abdul-Raouf eventually rushed into the dressing room, shortly after Ahli players and staff had withdrawn. Television replays confirmed that the goal is valid as defender Ramadan was seen holding his head right after scoring past his own keeper.
