Egypt defender Ahmed Fathi has decided to shun interest from Queens Park Rangers and see out the remainder of his contract with Ahli. Fathi has been targeted by the newly-promoted English Premier League side since last season and a £1million offer has been tabled for his services this summer. Despite being tempted by the return to England, the 27-year-old looks set to remain in Cairo with the Red Devils. “The Fathi-QPR case is now closed. He is staying with Ahli and he accepts totally accepts it,” Ahli first-team coordinator Hadi Khashaba told FilGoal.com. Doubled bid Fathi's agent Nader Shawki also added that Ahli's demand for an additional £1million seems to have hampered negotiations between both clubs. “Ahli asked for £2million but QPR refused that notion as they felt it was too much,” Shawki said. QPR struck most of their summer deals with free-agent players, with the exception of DJ Campbell, who was bought from Blackpool for around £1.7million.
