Egypt have been drawn against Guinea, Zimbabwe and Comoros/Mozambique in Group 7 of the 2014 World Cup preliminary qualifiers. The draw, which was concluded in Rio de Janeiro, divided 40 African nations into ten groups as leaders qualify for the second and final round. The final round will include a two-legged knockout between ten teams, with the winner qualifying automatically for the Brazil finals. Egypt have failed to qualify for the World Cup since making the Italy 1990 finals as they narrowly missed out on the 2010 tournament in South Africa. Other groups The rest of the draw included some tough groups, most notably Group 3, which will see former finalists Ivory Coast and Morocco battle it out against Gambia and Chad/Tanzania. Algeria, who ousted Egypt for the 2009 qualifiers, will also face a tough challenge against Mali, with Benin and Eritrea/Rwanda completing Group 8.
