Zamalek have backed down on their decision to abandon Wednesday night's Cairo derby, following orders from higher authorities, the club said on their website. The Cairo club said earlier that their players are not ready to play the derby match against Ahli after the FA's initial announcement to postpone the game. However, Zamalek's website announced that players are gathering again for the match, 'following a direct order from higher authorities'. The Egyptian FA said on Wednesday morning that the match will be postponed in the wake of the violent events that took place on Tuesday night in Tahrir Square, only for the Ministry of Interior to backtrack on the delay decision. Zamalek's initial reaction Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan initially made a negative response saying: “We do not deal with the ministry. “There was a notification from the FA that the match was postponed and we are committed to it until further notice. “The players left the team camp and there is no way to reach all of them. We will not play the game.” But FA chairman Samir Zaher warned the Whites that they will be considered defeated if they didn't show up at Cairo Stadium on Wednesday night. Ahli ready Meanwhile, league leaders Ahli said they are willing to play the game despite calling off the team's pre-match camp. “We agree to play the game in respect to the circumstances of the country,” Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz told the club's website.
