The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that Saturday's Cairo derby between Ahli and Zamalek has been postponed for an indefinite period. "The Ahli-Zamalek clash was delayed because the broadcasting rights saga is yet to be settled," the EFA said in a statement on their website on Wednesday. Ahli said earlier this week that they will not permit several TV networks, including the likes of Modern, Dream and Al-Hayat, to broadcast the game. The Red Devils reiterated their intention to have the match available on Ahli TV only, insisting that they should have the exclusive rights of broadcasting their home league games. "There is ambiguity surrounding who should own the broadcasting rights. EFA president Samir Zaher has been authorized to resolve such issue as soon as possible." Ahli said they would just allow the national TV to air the game on terrestrial channels and the Egyptian Satellite Channel (ESC). There is confusion in Egypt over who owns the broadcasting rights. There are no definite regulations that clarify the matter.
